Appliance error codes by brand and appliance
Use an error code exactly as it appears on the appliance. Appliance Verdict routes each reviewed code through the manufacturer and appliance context instead of treating the same letters or numbers as universal.
What an appliance error code can—and cannot—tell you
An error code is a diagnostic clue generated by the appliance controls. It can identify the system or condition the control detected, but it does not automatically prove that a particular component has failed. A drain code, for example, may be caused by an external hose restriction, a blocked filter, a pump condition, installation, or an internal electrical problem. Appliance Verdict keeps those possibilities separate and follows the safe checks documented for that brand.
Record the code before resetting the appliance. Preserve spaces and the order of letters and numbers when possible. Similar-looking codes can have different meanings across manufacturers, product generations, and appliance types. If the code on your display is not represented in a reviewed path, use the interactive diagnostic or the manufacturer documentation for the exact model rather than substituting a “close” code.

How Appliance Verdict handles error codes
Each code family is tied to one or more dated source records and a specific brand/appliance scope. The structured diagnostic can ask follow-up questions, identify external checks, and stop when the evidence points to internal service. It does not infer exact-fit parts from the code alone. When a model number is supplied, recall screening is handled separately so a potential public safety issue is not hidden behind a troubleshooting result.
Safety boundary
Do not bypass door or lid locks, leak protection, thermal protection, gas controls, or other safety devices to clear a code. Stop for smoke, sparking, electrical shock, active uncontrolled water, a gas odor, or repeated breaker trips. Microwave cabinet removal, energized electrical measurements, sealed-system work, and internal gas-system testing remain professional-service boundaries.
